Chi Restaurant is one of the most significant Chinese restaurant openings in New York City, 9th Avenue in decades.  Founded by Executive Chef Tom Lei and a group of distinguished Chinese investors, it offers a modern, luxurious authentic flair of delicious Chinese cuisines mainly from Szechuan regions.  It also includes Cantonese, Hunan and Beijing seasonal menus.  We use only the finest, freshest ingredients and everything is first class, which will be evident after your first bite. Chef Thomas Lei studied regional Chinese cooking at a leading Beijing culinary school before coming to America to consult on high-end Chinese restaurant openings in New York. Now, in a space of his own, he is able to prepare the intricate, creative dishes he has always wanted to do, while introducing diners to the vast world of authentic Chinese flavors.

Chef Thomas Lo, an anesthesiologist and Forest Hills resident who studied at the International Culinary Center in Manhattan and interned at high-end restaurants, stopped by Spy C Cuisine for a quick meal after work one day. After one bite of the incredible cucumber salad, Chef Dr. Lo’s eyes lit up with excitement. He jumped up and asked to meet the chef because it was the best cucumber salad he had ever tasted.  The rest is history.
